We’re excited to share this banner with you, not just because it’s big and cool, but because it represents a new direction for us. Over several months, Susan met with representatives from various organizations to find a customer for the app.
They were all excited about Safehouse, but wanted something different. Fortunately, what they were saying was pretty similar to each other.
This pivot is a shift away from peers (the people are looking for support) to the supporters (the people who have more recovery).
We’ve incorporated the three pillars of peer support into the app: Listen,
Assess, and Refer. A big benefit of this change is many of elements that we’ve been working on, such as accountability timers, safety plans, and natural language processing, suddenly make a lot more sense and fit together better.
We’re looking forward to working on this more. In particular, talking to experienced peer supporters. Want in?
